It is very complimentary and I attach a copy. Season Tickets You will be aware that the number of season tickets has been steadily increasing year by year. Last season it shot up by more than 30 to a record 285, and the coming season looks as if it will rise further. Even at this very early stage, we have over 200 confirmed season ticket orders for 2010/11. It is quite a major job to try to juggle and accommodate everybody's wishes and send out some 1200 tickets to the correct people as part of dealing with our annual mailing list send-out to some 800 people. So Riet and I are aiming to get the season ticket situation for next season sorted out rather earlier than in previous years. Therefore I am sending this message to all members that if you are likely to want season tickets, do it now. Don't leave it until September because if you do, you will have a very limited choice. Already we have a waiting list for the balcony (and we know that not everybody waiting will get their wishes); the block in front of the violins is full as well as most of the block in front of the cellos/basses. You can let me know your wishes by email or telephone, but note that we will be away from 6 to 21 June and I shall not be able to be at the workshop. The earlier you reply, the better the seats you will get. You might like to know that, following Saturday's brilliant concert, we already have 175 people signed up for season tickets for 2010/11. Some of these people had never been to a BSO concert before because they didn't know we existed! So please keep spreading the word. As things are already looking so good, we may well exceed last year's record of 285 season tickets - which in turn was about 30 more than our previous record. But this reinforces what I am regularly stressing to orchestra members: you need to book as early as possible to get good seats for your own family and guests. We have a waiting list for balcony seats.
